Sometimes one of the best ways to try something new is to go all in, full force. And that’s just what our #BeetTheMeat challenge is all about.
At Grown Here Farms, we strive to embody our green, ethical philosophy and believe that every action has ripple effects. It never been more important than now to be socially and environmentally responsible for our community, our planet, and our bodies. And since we’re big believers in practicing what we preach, we created a fun, 28-Day Challenge to get you (and us) thinking about eating and living more mindfully.
Go meatless this February with our #BeetTheMeat 28 Day Challenge! Ditch the meat and what you think you know about plant-forward diets and try something new for clean eating and some good-karma points. You seriously can’t lose! Adopting a mindful, conscious approach to eating not only benefits your health, it benefits your planet. Not to mention, going meat-free comes with a whole range of benefits:
-increase in energy levels
-reduce your risk of heart disease
-glowing, healthier looking skin
-boost your immune system
-decrease body odour and bad breath
-helping the planet
We live in a fast paced, instant gratification world where our food arrives via semi-trucks from faraway places. Our fruit and veggies, if we remember to incorporate them in our often imbalanced, high meat-diets, are grown and raised with traditional agricultural practices, meaning they are sprayed with chemicals or contain GMO’s that are both harmful to our planet and our body.
But the greatest impact? Eating meat. Did you know that a global adoption of a more plant-forward diet would lower carbon emissions by 63%? That’s because raising animals for meat requires resources – and a lot of them. Just red meat alone that is raised for commercial food requires 28 times more land 11 times more water than chicken
We are so far removed from the simple beginnings of our food, the nutrients that sustain us, that we often take for granted the process that went behind it. But we promise you; when you take this challenge, you’ll not only see improvements in yourself, but you’ll become mindful of your connections to your food and your community, both local and global.
We want you to take the 28 Day Challenge with us this February to take control of your diet and commit to a healthier, more mindful you. Every step of the way, we’ll be there with you: detoxing from animal products, trying meat alternatives, attempting new recipes.
Are you with us? Tag us on social and let us know! And stay tuned – we’ll be providing you tips, insights, and recipes along the way this month to help you at every turn. We know it won’t be easy, but we have one body and one planet and we’re in this together.
